I have been designing gardens professionally for over twenty years, but my love of gardening began well before that. I remember, as a small child, happily planting flower seeds with Mom and waiting with anticipation to see that first sign of life breaking through the ground. My Grandmother had, what seemed to me, a magical garden; every Saturday we would visit and play among the flowers while Dad pulled weeds and mowed the lawn. I found everything, from flowers and butterflies to worms and slugs, endlessly fascinating.

As an adult, every job I've ever had has been in and around the landscape and garden. My hands-on horticultural training, you might say, is from the “ground up” (sorry!). I've done everything from grounds crew laborer, to crew chief, to site supervisor for commercial landscape companies.

I graduated with honors from Temple University with a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design. While working with a team of designers and landscape architects early in my career, I earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University. I completed the degree with Highest Honors, was inducted into Sigma Lambda Alpha (the honor society for Landscape Architects) and was chosen to receive the Certificate of Honor for excellence in the study of Landscape Architecture from the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Soon after, I was hired as the Lead Designer for a high-end Horticultural Services Company. During this time I gained a tremendous depth of knowledge about thousands of plants with which I worked first hand. I was able to hone my skills as a designer in the grandest tradition of garden creation.

I took a leap of faith in January of 2002 and started my own business. Since then I've had the pleasure of providing hundreds of clients with garden designs that are uniquely theirs; and hopefully one or two of them have inspired the imaginations of other small children.
